The Life of James Beard with John Birdsall and Pontet Canet

Join distinguished author John Birdsall fresh on the heels of his new biography of James Beard: "The Man Who Ate Too Much: The Life of James Beard”.  Well known for his writing about food and wine subjects, John will discuss his new book and we will be treated to a recreation of a historic dinner at the 21 Club in 1939 between the President of the Wine and Food Society of NY and James Beard.  The dinner, which is accounted in the book, also featured a bottle of Pontet Canet (as will our recreation).   Justine Tesseron, the fourth generation owner of  Château Pontet Canet, will be on hand to discuss her wines.  The meal will be recreated by Chef Francesco Palmieri, who has had the honor to have cooked at the James Beard House.  All attendees will receive a signed copy of the book.
