Low Fill Wines - Fact and Fiction with Heritage Auctions

Event chairs and well known wine educators, Harriet and Bill Lembeck noticed after selling most of their cellar through Heritage Auctions, several wines were left behind due to low fills. The wines, however, tasted as they were expected to taste, and the Lembecks were pleasantly surprised.  Wine Committee member Jack Gordon invited Ian Dorin, Director of Fine Wines for Heritage Auctions, to conduct this tasting, with the help of an oenologist chemist. They will lead us on an adventure through the “fact and fiction of low-fills” – why they can’t be sold at auction, yet are still often quite good. The wines will all be classified Bordeaux of assorted vintages, selected from the Lembeck cellar.
